Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2023 

The long awaited Samsung Galaxy Unpacked just ended and here’s what got announced. Even more exciting is the fact that its happening on home ground, in Seoul, for the first time. On top of all the teases that Samsung’s been dropping and everyone’s speculations of Samsung releasing a refresh of the Galaxy Z Flip and Galaxy Z Fold series along with a bunch of other devices to complete the ecosystem – they’re spot on.

Galaxy Z Flip5

There’s no doubt the star of the show is the brand-new Galaxy Z Flip5. As a follow-up to last year’s Z Flip4, its filled with a ton of improvements, including a bigger and more usable outer screen. The all-new Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5 comes in 4 colours, Cream, Graphite, Green and the crowd favourite, Lavender.

With Widgets, users can check the weather, control music playback and listen to their favorite music with Media Controller, or catch up on the latest global stock market updates with the Google Finance widget. Simply view all Widgets at a glance and switch between them instantly with a pinch of the screen to activate Multi Widget View. Plus, easily check notifications and access Quick Settings for Wi-Fi or Bluetooth.

Without ever opening the device, browse through call history to return missed calls, and reply to texts on-the-go using Quick Reply with a full QWERTY keyboard and visibility of chat history. With a quick swipe up on the screen, access Samsung Wallet to pay on-the-go, access QR codes and coupons, as well as boarding passes, membership cards, digital keys and health passes.

Galaxy Z Fold5

While the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5 comes in 3 colours, Cream, Phantom Black and Icy Blue. The improved Taskbar enables dynamic productivity by allowing users to quickly switch between frequently used apps. Now up to four recent apps are at the ready for more efficient working. Newly enhanced two- handed drag and drop can also ramp up productivity when moving content between apps and screens. Simply touch and hold an image in Samsung Gallery with one finger and use another finger to open the Samsung Notes app to drag-and-drop the image.

Both the Galaxy Z Flip5 and Galaxy Z Fold5 has their main screens equipped with a shock dispersion layer and a redesigned back for a more solid display. Along with IPX8 support, Armor Aluminum frames, and Corning® Gorilla® Glass Victus® applied to both the Flex Window and back cover, Galaxy Z Flip5 and Galaxy Z Fold5 provide the protection consumers expect, enhanced further by Flex Hinge. This new integrated hinge module features a dual rail structure, diffusing external impacts.

Galaxy Tab S9 series and Galaxy Watch

Aside from phones, Samsung has also announced updates to the Galaxy Tab S9 series in three sizes. The three models, Galaxy Tab S9, S9+ and S9 Ultra, comes in two colors, Beige and Graphite and three sizes: 14.6-inch on Tab S9 Ultra, 12.4-inch on Tab S9+, and 11-inch on Tab S9. Dynamic AMOLED 2X displays ensure epic viewing and entertainment experiences.

With the power of Qualcomm Snapdragon® 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy, along with an in-box, IP68-rated S Pen helps users bring their ideas to life. The first Galaxy Tab S Series to earn an IP68 rating, allowing the user to have a peace of mind whether indoors or outdoors.

Galaxy Watch6 and Watch6 Classic come with a 30% slimmer bezel and a 15% thinner rotating bezel respectively. Galaxy Watch6 Series comes with a larger battery and reduced battery consumption to support its larger and brighter display. With just eight minutes of quick charge, users can add an additional eight hours.

Galaxy Watch6 Series now offers in-depth analysis of Sleep Score Factors – total sleep time, sleep cycle, awake time, plus physical and mental recovery – to help users understand the quality of sleep received each night. More individualised Sleep Messages, co-developed with the National Sleep Foundation, also provide users with detailed feedback about their sleep health each morning. Additionally, Galaxy Watch6 offers Sleep Consistency showing how consistent the user’s sleep and wake times are, and a designated Sleep Animal Symbol representing their sleep type.

Availability

Pre-order for the Galaxy Z Flip5 and Galaxy Z Fold5 will commence from 26 July 2023, Wednesday, 7pm at Samsung Online Store and respective telco operators and consumer Electronics & IT stores.

Consumers who pre-order the Galaxy Z Flip5 and Galaxy Z Fold5 can enjoy complimentary 1-year Samsung Care+ Screen Care, worth $121 and $177 respectively. On top of that, there will be a free one-time screen replacement within the Samsung Care+ Screen Care policy period. Additionally, consumers can enjoy an additional year of Samsung Care+ Screen Care at $88 for the Galaxy Z Flip5 and $128 for the Galaxy Z Fold5.

The Galaxy Z Flip5 is available in 256GB for S$1498 and an online exclusive in 512GB at S$1,678. The Galaxy Z Fold5 is available in 256GB and 512GB at S$2398 and S$2578 respectively. An online exclusive 1TB version is available at S$2938.

Pre-order for the Galaxy Tab S9 will commence from 26 July 2023, Wednesday, 7pm at Samsung Online Store and respective telco operators and consumer Electronics & IT stores. The Galaxy Tab S9 series start at $1,128 for 128GB.

Pre-order for the Galaxy Watch6 Classic and Galaxy Watch6 will commence from 26 July 2023, Wednesday, 7pm at Samsung Online Store and respective telco operators and consumer Electronics & IT stores. The Galaxy Watch6 series starts at S$448 and the Galaxy Watch6 Classic series starts at S$$598.

Consumers who choose to pre-order their devices from the Samsung Online Store can collect their devices from 4 August 2023 via in-person collection at Samsung Experience Store or delivery.
