Hello, iPhone 16e – Apple’s latest entry-level offering

Earlier this morning, Apple announced it’s latest entry-level iPhone – the iPhone 16e.

Design & Battery Life

The design is a little reminiscent of the iPhone 14, and features a 6.1 inch Super Retina XDR OLED display. The iPhone 16e has the best battery life of any 6.1-inch iPhone, lasting up to 6 hours longer than the iPhone 11 and up to 12 hours longer than any iPhone SE.

Notably, the iPhone 16e comes with the Action button, which can be customized in Settings to perform a number of actions that can make life much easier.

Performance

The iPhone 16e features Apple’s powerful A18 chip, making it fast, efficient, and perfect for Apple Intelligence tasks. Its 6-core CPU is 80% faster than the iPhone 11’s A13, while the 4-core GPU delivers top-tier gaming with realistic graphics. The 16-core Neural Engine runs AI models up to 6x faster.

It also debuts Apple’s C1 modem for fast, reliable 5G and improved power efficiency. Combined with iOS 18’s power management, this gives the iPhone 16e exceptional battery life.

Apple Intelligence

The iPhone 16e is built for Apple Intelligence, bringing smart new features that make life easier. The Clean Up tool lets you remove distractions from photos in a tap, and you can find any picture by simply describing it with natural language search in the Photos app.

Image Playground helps you create fun visuals, Genmoji lets you design your perfect emoji, and Writing Tools make your messages and notes shine. Siri is now more helpful too – you can type to it, have more natural chats (even if you stumble), and it remembers what you asked earlier. Siri can also answer tons of Apple product questions, like how to screen record or schedule a text.

ChatGPT is built into Siri and Writing Tools for quick answers and ideas, all without switching apps. It’s free to use, no account needed, and privacy is protected – your info always stays in your control.

Apple Intelligence is built with privacy at its core. Many AI features run right on your iPhone, keeping your data on your device. When more power is needed, Private Cloud Compute steps in to give you extra smarts while keeping your info safe. Your data is never stored or shared with Apple – it is only used to answer your requests.

The iPhone 16e’s 2-in-1 camera system is built to capture both everyday moments and big memories – even in low light or Portrait mode. The 48MP camera uses smart tech to snap sharp, detailed photos, while the built-in 2x Telephoto lets you zoom in with crisp, optical-quality shots. The front TrueDepth camera has autofocus for clear close-ups and great group selfies.

You’d be able to record videos in 4K Dolby Vision up to 60 fps, with the option to pause and resume filming. Spatial Audio recording creates an immersive sound experience, and Audio Mix lets you fine-tune voices, background sounds, or reduce wind noise – all powered by smart machine learning.

Pricing & Availability

iPhone 16e will be available in white and black, in 128GB, 256GB and 512GB storage capacities. Prices start at S$949.
