Having used the WashG1 previously in my 506 sqft apartment, switching to the Clean+Wash Hygiene immediately felt like a refinement of the same idea rather than learning a completely new machine.
Both are designed for proper hard floor washing. But in daily use, the Clean+Wash Hygiene feels lighter, faster and easier to manage across compact layouts like mine. I would expect the same experience across most 3-room and even 4-room HDB flats, especially where furniture spacing and turning space matter during cleaning.
Here’s what stood out after using it around the house.
Cleaning Routine
In a smaller apartment like mine, cleaning efficiency matters more than raw cleaning power.
What I noticed first was that I could move through the entire home faster compared to the WashG1. The machine handles dry debris and wet mess together in one pass, so there is no need to vacuum before washing the floor.
That makes a difference around:
- entryways
- dining areas
- kitchen zones
- tight walkways between furniture
Instead of planning two cleaning steps, I can just do one full pass across the apartment and finish everything in a single round.
The roller continuously refreshes itself with clean water while rotating, which helps lift dirt rather than spreading it across the floor.

Handling & Manoeuvrability
This is where the biggest upgrade from WashG1 becomes obvious.
At 3.82kg, the Clean+Wash Hygiene feels noticeably lighter when moving around furniture and repositioning between rooms.
In a 506 sqft layout, that difference shows up very quickly. Turning around sofa legs, dining chairs and tighter corners takes less effort.
It also lies flat to 113mm, which makes cleaning under sofas and beds easier without adjusting angles or shifting furniture.
WashG1 was already comfortable to use. This just feels easier across a full cleaning session.

Cleans Wet And Dry Mess Together
One of the most useful features here is that the microfibre roller removes dust, hair and spills at the same time.
The roller spins at 250 RPM and combines dense microfibres with nylon bristles to lift:
- fine dust
- dried footprints
- crumbs
- hair
- sticky kitchen spills
For daily cleaning routines in Singapore homes, this saves time immediately.
Especially in smaller layouts like mine where cleaning paths overlap frequently.
Edge Cleaning Around Walls
The cleaner head supports three sided edge cleaning, which helps reach closer to skirting boards without needing a second pass.
In compact apartments, edges actually make up a large portion of your cleaning route. Being able to clean along walls properly speeds things up more than expected.
Maintenance After Cleaning
This is the part that makes the Clean+Wash Hygiene feel like a newer generation machine compared to WashG1.
Instead of relying only on a rinse cycle, the roller now:
- runs a self cleaning cycle
- dries using 85°C hot air
- stays ready for the next session without manual drying time
The machine also keeps debris and dirty water contained inside the cleaner head instead of circulating through internal pipes.
In day-to-day use, this reduces post-cleaning maintenance noticeably.
Adjustable Hydration Settings
The Clean+Wash Hygiene includes four hydration levels including Boost mode, which makes it easier to adjust water flow depending on the mess.
For example:
- lower settings work well for daily cleaning
- higher settings help with kitchen spills or entryway dirt after rain
It gives more control across different parts of the home without changing attachments.

Coverage Across Singapore Homes
On a full tank, the machine can clean up to 350 square metres, which easily covers my apartment in a single session and still leaves capacity remaining.
For 3-room HDB flats, this comfortably fits within one cleaning cycle.
Even in 4-room flats, the runtime of up to 45 minutes keeps the workflow manageable without interruption.

Yay or Nay?
After using the WashG1 in my 506 sqft apartment for some time, switching to the Clean+Wash Hygiene did not feel like learning a new machine. It felt like using a more refined version of the same idea.
The biggest difference shows up in how quickly I can move through a full cleaning session now. It is lighter to handle, easier to guide around furniture, and noticeably simpler to reset after each use because the roller dries automatically.
In a compact layout like mine, those small workflow improvements add up quickly. I finish cleaning faster, and the machine feels easier to bring out regularly instead of only when I have time for a longer cleaning session.
WashG1 is still a very capable hard floor washer and continues to make sense if you already own one.
But if you are deciding between the two today, the Clean+Wash Hygiene feels like the more complete version of what Dyson was already trying to do with WashG1.
For homes around the size of mine, and even typical 3-room or 4-room HDB layouts, the lighter handling and faster routine cleaning make the difference quite noticeable.
For me, this is a Yay.
