Chinese smartphone maker vivo has announced the Singapore launch of X70 and X70 Pro. Coming in two colours of aurora dawn and cosmic black for both models, the vivo X70 (S$949, pre-order at Lazada and Shopee) and X70 Pro (S$1,199, pre-order at Lazada and Shopee) will be available here starting Dec 4.
This X70 series is said to incorporate top-notch computational imaging features with hardware capabilities co-engineered with German optics company Zeiss. Both smartphones have received certified compliance with Zeiss T* Coating, which enhances light transmission to reduce ghosting, stray light and other image artefacts. The result is an intuitive mobile photography experience, according to vivo.
Both X70 and X70 Pro come with a 32-megapixel (MP) front-facing camera. For the rear camera system, the X70 is equipped with a rear triple-camera system consisting of a 40MP gimbal wide-angle camera, a 12MP ultra-wide-angle camera and a 12MP telephoto camera with 2x optical zoom.
On the other hand, the X70 Pro is equipped with a rear quad-camera system comprising a 50MP gimbal wide-angle camera, a 12MP ultra-wide-angle camera, a 12MP telephoto camera with 2x optical zoom and a 8MP periscope camera with 5x optical zoom.
Otherwise, both X70 and X70 Pro runs on the same MediaTek Dimensity 1200 chip with 5G connectivity. Both smartphones also feature the same 6.56-inch AMOLED display with a fast refresh rate of 120Hz.
The X70 Pro has a slightly larger 4,450mAh battery while the X70 has a 4,400mAh battery. Both support 44W FlashCharge with vivo’s charger included in the box. This charger allows you to charge the smartphone to 64 per cent battery level in just 30 minutes.
Unfortunately, there are currently no plans to bring the X70 Pro+ to Singapore. The X70 Pro+ features a bigger 6.78-inch LPTO AMOLED display and the faster flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 5G chip. In addition, its rear camera system is similar to X70 Pro except it has a 48MP gimbal ultra-wide-angle camera but its 50MP lacks the gimbal stabilisation.
