Uniqlo launches new Pokémon T-shirts to celebrate the franchise’s 25th anniversary

To celebrate Pokémon’s 25th anniversary, Uniqlo will be launching four UT (Uniqlo T-shirts) Pokémon collections from this month till the end of the year.

The first two collections, Pokémon All-Stars (prices start from S$12.90) and Dreaming Pokémon (prices start from S$19.90), are supposed to launch on May 28 here in all Uniqlo stores islandwide and its online store. However, due to the tightened Covid-19 measures, it has been postponed to Jun 21.

The Pokémon All-Stars collection has been designed with popular first-generation Pokémon, such as Pikachu and Jigglypuff, to transport adults back to their childhood. On the other hand, the kids’ range includes popular new-generation Pokémon, like Yamper and Wooloo.

In addition, Uniqlo’s Dreaming Pokémon UT collection is tailored for babies. The collection – decorated with cute Pokémon like Eevee and Mareep – comprises sweat-wicking infant pyjamas of a dreamy look accentuated with a soft colour palette.

In case you don’t know, Pokémon (also known as Pocket Monsters) is a media franchise with games, animations and merchandise in which players known as Pokémon trainers catch and train fictional characters known as Pokémon. It is believed to be the highest grossing media franchise of all time with a value of over US$100 billion since its inception in 1996.
