FUNCTIONS
The versatility of the adjustable screen is arguably one of the most stannable features of StanbyME, with its ability to be rotated and swivelled in several different ways – including up to 180° rotation, 130° swivel, 50° tilt and 20cm height adjustments.
The screen was easily adjustable to portrait mode that allowed me to refer to recipe articles and videos while cooking in the kitchen.
BATTERY LIFE
I always found smart TVs, whether wall-mounted or otherwise, lacking; I would mindlessly reach out to tap on the screen of my friends’ smart TVs… and be dismayed when I realised that it wasn’t touchscreen.
StanbyME comes with a touchscreen interface that supports streaming apps including Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, and YouTube – perfect to satiate my media consumption appetite!
I was able to easily catch up on three episodes of my favourite binge-worthy show with the battery life giving me up to three hours of uninterrupted wireless screen time. Let’s not forget that I could easily tap on the screen to select ‘Next Episode’ without having to fumble for the remote control. I’d definitely recommend keeping it plugged in for extended screen time though!
ADDITIONAL PORTS
StanbyME comes with a HDMI port cleverly disguised at the back of the screen, and I was able to connect my gaming device with ease.
For prolonged hours of gaming, I’d recommend to keep it plugged into a power source so you don’t have to keep checking the battery life while playing your favourite game. Yaaas!
You can also use the USB port available to hook up any external drive to play your shows/movies/videos.
FINAL THOUGHTS
In my tiny 377sqft condo unit, I found the 27” display mounted on a moveable stand particularly useful as it suited my everyday needs comfortably. From watching recipe videos while cooking in the kitchen, to watching my favourite shows on the couch – the ease of adjusting the height of the display made it convenient for me to carry out my daily tasks.
It doesn’t take up much space either – or at least, I didn’t mind! My dogs manoeuvred around the StanbyME easily without toppling it over too – so that was a huge plus point for me.
