The most highly anticipated event of the year is finally here, and it was nothing short of exciting announcements. Here’s a quick round-up of all the announcements from Apple’s Fall Event: It’s Glowtime.
1. iPhone 16 Lineup
The all-new iPhone 16 will be available in 6.1″ and iPhone 16 Plus will come in 6.7″. The Action Button finally comes to iPhone 16, allowing iPhone 16 users to experience what was only previously available to Pro users.
iPhone 16 will come in gorgeous new colorways: Ultramarine, Teal, Pink, White, and Black.
Specifically created for iPhone 16, the A18 chip features an upgraded 16-core Neural Engine, up to 2x faster for machine learning, and 17% more system memory bandwidth. The new 5-core GPU powers graphics intense games, and uses 35% less power than the A16 chip.
Apple Intelligence can understand language, images, and simplify daily tasks grounded in your personal context. With Private Cloud Compute, your personal data will be protected as your data is never stored.
Siri can now tap on your personal context, and pull out personalised recommendations, play music quickly, update a friend’s contact card with a new address and so much more. Step by step guides will also be available with Siri.
The new Camera Control provides an easy access on the iPhone 16, just like an actual camera. The Camera Control will now allow you to tap on Visual Intelligence to quickly find out about something with just a tap of the button. The new Camera Control will be able to detect a light press vs a firm press – with a light press, you will get access to more controls to your camera.
Maximise resolution to capture fine details in 48MP with the Ultra Wide camera on the new iPhone 16.
With the 2x Telephoto lens, great low light images is promised. iPhone 16 users will get 4 options to capture visuals. Capture spatial photos and videos on the iPhone 16, allowing you to relive memories for years to come on Apple Vision Pro.
2. iPhone 16 Pro Lineup
iPhone 16 Pro has a stunning new design, with a huge improvement to the display – with iPhone 16 Pro in 6.3″ and iPhone 16 Pro Max at 6.9″. With the A18 Pro chip, the iPhone 16 Pro houses the fastest CPU in any smartphone. Faster, bigger, better.
Apple Intelligence will automatically transcribe audio recordings from meetings, access specific shots in your Photo library, and more.
iPhone 16 Pro will come in a stunning new color: Desert Titanium, in addition to the usual Titanium colorways.
The new 48MP camera allows zero shutter lag and many more functions, so that you can easily capture subjects that won’t stay still – such as your pets. iPhone 16 Pro’s Camera Control will be the dedicated control centre for all things camera-related.
Frame-by-frame color grading is now possible, and the upgraded camera now brings Cinematic Slow Motion for high definition cinematic shots. Different photographic styles are also now available on the iPhone 16 Pro lineup.
Spatial Audio capture will now be available on video recordings, on the new iPhone 16 Pro lineup. There will also be different Audio Mix options when recording video and audio, such as In-Frame, Studio, and Cinematic for different effects.
3. Apple Watch Series 10
Apple Watch Series 10 is coming with the biggest screen real estate ever. With the first ever wide-angle OLED display, it is now up to 40% brighter – allowing you to view messages and notifications that much easier under the harsh sunlight when you’re outdoors.
Apple’s first ever glossy Jet Black Apple Watch Series 10 gives off a beautiful sheen, with Silver Aluminium, Rose Gold finishes joining the family. A slightly more premium model is available in Natural Titanium, Gold, and Dark Slate Gray. At just 9.7mm, Apple Watch Series 10 is the slimmest Apple Watch ever. For the first time ever on the Apple Watch, you can now listen to podcasts or music directly from the Watch’s speaker.
Thanks to Apple Intelligence, Smart Stack will automatically add widgets whenever you need them, and the Translate app comes to the Apple Watch Series 10. Apple Intelligence also powers up a bunch of new health features on the new Apple Watch.
Now, Apple Watch Series 10 can also alert people with possible sleep apnea, a condition that affects millions of people around the world. Sleep Apnea alerts will also be available on Apple Watch Series 9.
4. AirPods 4
Powered by the H2 chip, the AirPods 4 will receive a massive audio upgrade. You can now nod or shake your head to interact with Siri on your AirPods hands-free. The charging case will now be USB-C, and can deliver up to 30 hours of battery life in the sleekest and smallest charging case ever. Active Noise Cancellation will be coming to the AirPods 4 for the first time ever, to reduce environmental noise wherever you are. Wireless charging is also coming to the new AirPods, alongside a speaker on the charging case.
AirPods Max is finally getting an upgrade in new colorways: Midnight, Blue, Starlight, Purple and Orange. It will also now be chargeable in USB-C.
5. AirPods Pro 2
AirPods Pro 2 will be getting important health updates: Prevention, Awareness, Assistance. Hearing Protection will be switched on by default to help protect you, all thanks to machine learning. A clinically validated 5-min Hearing Test will be available to allow one to understand your hearing profile, and understand more about hearing loss. Clinical grade hearing aid features comes to AirPods Pro 2, allowing people to easily engage in conversations even with minor hearing loss.
