Writing Tools just got even more personalized with a new feature called Describe Your Change. Now, you can be specific about how you want your writing to sound—whether it’s adding dynamic action verbs to your resume or turning a dinner party invite into a poetic masterpiece. This gives you even more control and flexibility to make your words truly reflect your style. Like all Writing Tools features, Describe Your Change works systemwide across Apple and many third-party apps, so you can easily make adjustments wherever you’re writing.
Visual Intelligence
The new visual intelligence experience, powered by Apple Intelligence, takes your iPhone 16 lineup to the next level, allowing you to instantly learn about objects and places with just a glance. With the new Camera Control, you can easily capture and summarize text, translate between languages, and even detect phone numbers or email addresses, offering the option to add them to your contacts. Need more? Camera Control lets you search Google to find where to buy items, or turn to ChatGPT to help solve complex problems, like explaining a tricky diagram from your class notes. What’s more, you’re always in control, deciding when third-party tools are used and what information is shared, ensuring your privacy every step of the way.

ChatGPT with Siri and Writing Tools
Leveraging on ChatGPT is definitely going to take your workflows and personal life to a whole new level. With Apple enabling ChatGPT access in Siri and Writing Tools experiences across iOS, iPadOS, and macOS – you will no longer need to jump from app to app.
With the new ChatGPT integration, Siri can now suggest using ChatGPT for certain requests and even provide direct responses. Through Compose, you can ask ChatGPT to help generate content for anything you’re working on using the systemwide Writing Tools. Plus, you can take advantage of ChatGPT’s image-generation features to add visuals alongside your writing.
Fret not. You are in full control of the ChatGPT integration – from deciding when to use it to what information to share. By default, you will not need a ChatGPT account. If you choose to use ChatGPT without signing in, OpenAI won’t store your requests or use your data for training, and your IP address is kept private. For those who do connect an account, OpenAI’s data-use policies apply.
More Capabilities are on the way
More exciting new Apple Intelligence features are on the way. Siri will soon become even more personal and intuitive, tapping into your unique context to deliver smarter, more tailored responses. With new onscreen awareness, Siri will also be able to take hundreds of actions across Apple and third-party apps, making your experience even more seamless. Priority Notifications will help highlight what’s most important to you, so you never miss a thing. Plus, in Image Playground, you’ll soon be able to create stunning images in a Sketch style—featuring vibrant colors and technical lines for a highly detailed, realistic look. It’s all about making your Apple experience smarter and more personalized than ever.
Breakthrough for Privacy in AI
Apple Intelligence is built with privacy at its core, using on-device processing to ensure that most models run entirely on your device. For requests that need larger models, Private Cloud Compute takes privacy a step further by extending the security of your iPhone into the cloud, all while keeping your data safe. When using Private Cloud Compute, your data is never stored or shared with Apple—it’s only used to fulfill your request. To ensure this commitment to privacy, independent experts regularly inspect the code running on Apple silicon servers. This is a groundbreaking advancement in AI privacy, setting a new standard for trust and security.
