The New iMac with M4

It has been a whirlwind of an exciting week full of Mac announcements, and the new iMac was one of the first to be unveiled.

M4 Chip

The new iMac is powered by the M4 chip, and is now up to 1.7x faster than iMac with M1. iMac users will feel the boost in performance across daily activities such as multitasking between apps and browsing webpages in Safari. The M4 chip supercharges the iMac to handle more intense workloads like photo editing, and gaming is now up to 2.1x faster than iMac with M1. Say what?!

For families, small businesses, and entrepreneurs, the new iMac provides up to 1.7x faster performance in apps like Microsoft Excel, and up to 1.5x faster browsing performance in Safari when compared to iMac with M1.

Gamers can enjoy up to 2x higher frame rates on the new iMac for smooth gameplay, when compared to iMac with M1. Creators can now edit like never before, with up to 2.1x faster photo and editing performance when working in apps like Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Premiere Pro when compared to iMac with M1.

Apple Intelligence

This week, Apple also announced the long awaited arrival of Apple Intelligence to the Apple ecosystem. Apple Intelligence is available in U.S. English on macOS Sequoia 15.1. Writing Tools can help to finesse text by rewriting, proofreading, and summarizing text nearly everywhere you write. With the new Siri, you can now move even more quickly and seamlessly between spoken and typed requests across your daily tasks. New Apple Intelligence features will be available later this year in December, with more capabilities rolling out in the upcoming months.

New Colorways

The new iMac comes in 7 vibrant fresh colors: Green, Yellow, Orange, Pink, Purple, Blue, and Silver.

Each iMac comes with a color-matched Magic Keyboard, Magic Mouse or optional Magic Trackpad. All accessories now comes with a USB-C port, making it incredibly easy to charge all your Apple devices with a single cable.

TLDR

The new iMac features a 24″ 4.5K Retina display, with a nano-texture glass option that significantly reduces reflections and glares while still maintaining outstanding image quality. With nano-texture glass, you can now place your iMac even in the most sun-drenched living room, or bright storefront.

The new 12MP Centre Stage camera with support for Desk View keeps you perfectly centred during a video call. All 4 USB-C ports support Thunderbolt 4 for superfast data transfers. Touch ID works with Fast User Switching, perfect for a multi-user setup.

Pricing & Availability

Starting at S$1,799, the new iMac is available in Green, Yellow, Orange, Pink, Purple, Blue, and Silver.

You can now pre-order the new iMac with M4, and it will begin arriving from 8 Nov Fri onwards.
