Sorry, you can’t use previous iPad Magic Keyboard with the new 12.9-inch iPad Pro

If you are thinking of using your old Magic Keyboard for the latest 12.9-inch iPad Pro (5th generation), the answer is you can’t.

You will have to fork out $519 for a new Magic Keyboard due to the thicker chassis of the new 12.9-inch iPad Pro.

As reported by AppleInsider, 9to5Mac and iGeneration, its thicker (by a mere 0.5mm) chassis means the old Magic Keyboard for 12.9-inch iPad Pro cannot be closed entirely on the new tablet.

However, the new Magic Keyboard (available for pre-order on Apr 30) can be used on the 3rd and 4th generation 12.9-inch iPad Pro as well. And it comes in two colours of white and black.

Still, it will be an hefty investment for such fine margins. And no doubt will greatly irk owners of previous 12.9-inch iPad Pro.
