While in Seoul, South Korea for the Samsung Unpacked event, we paid the Samsung Digital City a visit and here are some of the most exciting parts of the tour that’s super educational and experiential at the same time!
So as the name might suggest, the Samsung Digital City is not actually a city (surprise!) but instead its Samsung’s campus located in Suwon about 20km away from the capital city of Seoul. Within 390 acres of office space, there are almost 35,000 Samsung employees, 4 landmark office towers, up to 38 floors high, 131 smaller buildings with more labs, offices, recreational facilities, and a guesthouse for visiting researchers.
The first stop for any visitor should be the Samsung Innovation Museum (S/I/M), Korea’s largest electronics industry museum, was established in 2014 and has since seen over 440,000 visitors to its exhibitions that cover not only the history of Samsung Electronics’ innovative products, but also the overall history of the electronics industry. Everything from the first TVs to the first refrigerators.
After having a rundown of how far technology has come across the timeline of mankind, we get to indulge in the latest of today’s technology. Experience all that Samsung SmartThings ecosystem have to offer in the eX Home, with everything from automated morning schedules and notifications on your smart fridge to having a dance party with matching lights and audio.
