PlayStation and Nike Basketball team up to launch PS5 sneakers

Still haven’t got your hands on a Sony PlayStation 5 (PS5) gaming console yet? You might have a better chance of getting a pair of PS5 sneakers instead.

This new PG 5 PS5 Colourway is created in partnership with Nike, basketball superstar Paul George (PG) and the artist behind the PS5 console’s design, Yujin Morisawa.

Said to be inspired by PS5’s design and Mr George’s passion for gaming, this pair of sneakers features the black, blue and white colours of the PS5 gaming console. In addition, the tongues of the shoes have the PG and PS logos on them.

You can also find the iconic PlayStation shapes at the heel and sides of the shoes – the similar patterns found on PS5 DualSense wireless controller.

This pair of PS5 sneakers will drop in select regions starting on May 14. And we understand that Singapore is one of the lucky ones.

There is no pricing at the moment. However, a pair of Nike PG 5 sneakers currently goes as high as S$209 here. As such, we guess this is probably the ball-park price for the PS5 sneakers. We just hope it does not get sold out as fast as the PS5 consoles.

Started out with dreams to become a street photographer, Trevor Tan somehow became a tech journalist with over 16 years of consumer tech experience. Maybe he plays too much video games and buys too many new gadgets.
