Huawei today launches MatePad – a new 10.4-inch tablet that is said to deliver enhanced performance and supports a suite of multimedia features. Just in time when most of us in Singapore are having to work from home.
This Android-based tablet uses 7nm Kirin 820 processor and a Mali-G57 GPU for optimal performance regardless you are using it for study, work or play. It comes with Wi-Fi 6 to stream videos seamlessly to its 2K high-definition (HD) display. Its Harman Kardon quad-channel speaker system offers great audio output.
With its 7,250mAh large-capacity battery, the MatePad offers up to 12 hours of webpage browsing or 12.5 hours of local full HD video playback on a single charge. Not to mention, it supports 10V/2.25A fast charging. Thus, it takes only 2.5 hours for a full charge.
The MatePad also comes with a storage of 128GB but can expanded with a microSD card of up to 512GB (sold separately). The tablet will only be available in Wi-Fi-only version.
However, the MatePad does not come with Google Mobile Services due to the on-going US-China trade war. As such, there is no Google Maps, Gmail, Google Search and etc.
Instead, it runs Huawei Mobile Services with its own AppGallery app store and Petal Search app. But you can still download the likes of Netflix, Disney+ and Amazon Prime streaming apps to watch your favourite shows.
The Huawei MatePad will be available from May 22 at S$498 in all Huawei Experience stores, authorised dealers and e-retailers like Lazada and Shopee.
From May 22 to June 6, you will receive a gift bundle (while stocks last) worth up to $180, which includes the Huawei Smart Keyboard for MatePad, with every purchase of the MatePad.
