E3 2021: What to expect, where and when to watch it

Electronic Entertainment Expo, or E3 as it’s commonly known, is the world’s premiere event for computer and video games as well as related gaming products.

Last year’s E3 was cancelled for the first time since its inception in 1995 due to the Covid-19 pandemic. This year, E3 2021 will be a virtual event to be held from Jun 12 (Jun 13 in Singapore time) to 15. It will be jam packed with virtual press conferences and showcases.

Xbox, and its newly-acquired Bethesda Games, will probably be showcasing the likes of Halo Infinite, Microsoft Flight Simulator and maybe even new Forza Motorsport and Fable. It will be exciting to see if Bethesda Games will announce any new IP games or updates on Starfield and The Elder Scrolls 6.

Razer will be making its maiden E3 keynote with its Singaporean CEO Tan Min Liang taking the centre stage. We wonder if it will be another showcase for Razer’s concept products (remember Project Valerie?) that never go to mass production or will Mr Tan have some surprises installed for us?

Perhaps, the most exciting thing in this year’s E3 is Nintendo’s showcase. Will we get the Nintendo Switch Pro that has been rumoured for sometime? We will know on Jun 16.

And if you haven’t noticed, the likes of Sony PlayStation and Electronic Arts will not be at E3. But they will probably have something to announce during the week.

In any case, here are some of the highlight events (in Singapore date and time) we picked out for E3 2021.

Hope everyone have a great E3!

Started out with dreams to become a street photographer, Trevor Tan somehow became a tech journalist with over 16 years of consumer tech experience. Maybe he plays too much video games and buys too many new gadgets.
