Diablo IV is probably going to take a while. But there is a definitive launch date for Diablo II: Resurrected, the remastered version of the cult classic action role-playing game.
Many say that Diablo II is probably the best game in the entire franchise. If you are one of them, you will be happy to know that at E3 2021, Blizzard announced that Diablo II: Resurrected will be available on Sep 23. It will be coming to Windows, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PS4, PS5, and Nintendo Switch.
Diablo II: Resurrected was first announced at the virtual BlizzCon event earlier this year. It supports up to 4K resolution and fully-remastered 7.1 Dolby Surround Sound. However, you can also play in the original 800 x 600 screen resolution if you want to take the memory lane route.
There will be an open beta for Diablo II: Resurrected’s multiplayer option in Aug. If you want to participate in the open beta, it will be unlocked if you can pre-order the game at US$39.99.
As an added incentive of the pre-order, you will receive a Heritage of Arreat transmog for Diablo III (available in-game by Sep 23), which gives Diablo III barbarians access to the iconic blue war paint and leather armour of the Diablo II barbarian.
Frankly speaking, we can’t wait.
