Apple may be updating Macbook Pro 14″ And 16″ to M2 Pro and M2 Max chips tomorrow

It has been reported by multiple sources that Apple will announce new products tomorrow. Mark Gurman of Bloomberg has hinted that these may be the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro M2 models that he discussed last fall. These laptops are expected to have the same design as the M1 variants released in late 2021, but would feature the new M2 Pro and M2 Max chips with up to 12 CPU cores and 38 GPU cores in the Max. However, there are no reports of any major revisions or a touchscreen feature in these models, and these laptops are expected to be the best performing Mac laptops.

The upcoming MacBook Pro models may be the first Macs to include WiFi 6E, which would support the 6GHz band. This would potentially provide higher maximum speeds, lower latency, and less congestion on busy local networks. However, it should be noted that this is just a speculation as of now and it has not been confirmed by Apple. Additionally, there have been no mentions of other products debuting at the same time, so it is unclear if there will be updates to other Mac models such as Mac mini. If the rumours are accurate, this could be good news for anyone who has been holding off on purchasing a MacBook Pro to ensure they get the latest hardware.

I guess only time will tell. Pro users looking to upgrade to the latest and greatest portable machines, I feel you.
