iPhone 14 series
The hype train for the iPhone 14 series is seriously ‘Far Out’, with 4 new models introduced (iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro, iPhone 14 Pro Max) – here are some key highlights we’re most excited about.

We’re promised a whole new experience complete with a new design, better processor and significant improvements on the camera – the iPhone 14 series is truly the star of the event.

The iPhone 14 Plus will showcase a larger display, equipped with OLED and Dolby Vision, the best battery life yet, an A15 Bionic chip – and comes with an upgraded camera.

The new 12mp main camera comes with a larger sensor, 1.9micron pixels, F1.5 aperture AND F1.9 True Depth camera with autofocus and better low-light capture. Faster aperture is going to be a game changer for the iPhone 14 for sure.

The iPhone 14 series will also feature a new Action Mode in Video, making it more stable to capture action shots, while being in the action – you don’t even need a gimbal anymore, that’s how stable the Action Mode shots will be.

iPhone 14 (6.1”) and iPhone 14 Plus (6.7”) will be available in 5 colors: Midnight, Starlight, Blue, Purple, and (PRODUCT) Red.

Now, on to the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max.

The Dynamic Island is something that I’m pretty excited about – it’s essentially a pill-shaped notch to show new live activity widgets without disrupting your current app usage. No more swiping up and down to switch apps just to check where your ride is.

Always-On Display will allow you to easily see the time and other information without tapping on the display.

You can now dim wallpaper images without losing skin tones as well.

A16 Bionic Chip is the fastest chip in a smartphone ever, and will be used to power the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max.

Seems like the camera is getting a huge upgrade in the 14 Pro series as well – a 48mp camera with a quad pixel sensor which is 65% larger than the previous Pro range. Coming in hot with the F1.78 aperture, 24m focal length, there would also be different sensor modes for different photos such as in low-light conditions.

There’s a dramatic improvement in the low light department with the Photonic Engine.

I’m sold on the iPhone 14 Pro series upgrades – imagine taking better photos and more dynamic videos on the iPhone – even in low-light situations? If Action Mode is as good as they say – this would change how pro filmmakers use the iPhone 14 Pro.

Apple Watch Series 8

Apple unveiled three new Apple Watches with the most important update for the watch in years – one that Apple Watch fans will definitely want to keep their eyes peeled out for.

Apple Watch Series 8 will come with a new body-temperature sensor and women’s health features related to fertility – from ovulation tracking that is protected heavily by privacy to detecting cycle deviations, which can indicate health problems.

Cycle data is encrypted on the device and only accessible with a passcode or biometric ID – and is encrypted end-to-end when synced to iCloud, so Apple can’t read it without your permission. It’s nice to know that Apple has spent so much time innovating and talking about this!

An innovative new feature – ‘Crash Detection’ can detect if one is in a severe car crash and notify emergency services and contacts. Two new motion sensors, an improved gyroscope and a new accelerometer that samples motion 4x faster than the old one. Series 8 can detect crashes in most popular types of vehicles, which could potentially be a life-saver. This feature is also available on the iPhone 14 series and Watch Ultra.

Low Power Mode will be available on Series 4 and above with WatchOS 9. Apple Watch with cell service will now support international roaming by pairing with the phone’s roaming plan.
