Beautiful New Color: Sky Blue

It’s been a long time coming, and Apple finally added a new colorway to the MacBook Air lineup: Sky Blue. The all-new Sky Blue is still true to the MacBook metallic gradient, and it joins Midnight, Starlight, and Silver in the MacBook Air family. This comes with a color-matched MagSafe charging cable, as with all the other color options.

M4 Chip

Let’s talk about the M4 chip. It features a powerful 10-core CPU, and up to 10-core GPU, and is said to support up to 32GB of unified memory. This makes the new MacBook Air up to a whopping 2x faster than the M1 model. The new MacBook Air can last for up to 18 hours, and the Neural Engine in the M4 chip amps up AI-based tasks by up to 3x faster than on MacBook Air with M1.

Video editing in iMovie and photo editing in softwares such as Adobe Photoshop is also up to 2x faster than the 13-inch MacBook Air with M1. Something as simple as browsing the web, is also up to 60% faster when compared to a PC laptop with an Intel Core Ultra 7 processor.

All-new 12MP Centre Stage Camera

The new 12MP Centre Stage camera is now improved with better video quality – keeping you looking sharp and camera-ready at all times. If you haven’t tried it out, Centre Stage automatically keeps you centred in the frame as you move around, and this is a game changer especially when you have to grab something from the office while still being on a work call. Desk View also allows you to display both yourself, and a top-down view of your desk – making illustrating your ideas on pen and paper while on a call even more interactive.

Improved Display Support

MacBook Air can also be supported with a multi-display setup – and now supports up to two 6K external displays. This will enable you to take multitasking to another level at work, in school, and anywhere else.

macOS Sequoia

macOS Sequoia comes with a bunch of great and helpful features, such as iPhone Mirroring – which is my personal favorite. With iPhone Mirroring, you can use your iPhone as is, but on your MacBook Air. Safari now highlights important information on websites in Highlights, helps to summarize articles in the new Reader, allows you to watch videos without distractions with the new Video Viewer, and you even get to hide distracting elements with Distraction Control. You can also easily tile your windows to a layout that suits you best. In April, macOS Sequoia 15.4 will allow you to bring your iPhone close to your new MacBook Air and sign in to your Apple Account seamlessly.
