Samsung has unveiled a prototype of a foldable tablet called the Flex Hybrid at CES 2023. The device features a screen that can switch between 10.5- and 12.4-inch sizes and between 4:3 and 16:10 aspect ratios.
The Flex Hybrid is just a concept at this stage, but it is one of several designs that Samsung has revealed, including a 17-inch slidable display and a digital cockpit concept for self-driving vehicles.
While foldable phones currently make up only a small share of the phone market, Samsung has a significant presence in this space with its Galaxy Z Fold and Galaxy Z Flip, and accounts for 88% of the foldable smartphone market, according to Omdia.
The company is likely to face more competition in the future as other companies, such as Motorola and TCL, have also unveiled foldable phone concepts. Oppo’s Find N2, which was released in late 2022, has also received praise for its lightweight design.
