Apple Vision Pro users have always been able to use Mac Virtual Display to connect their nearby Mac as a large portable display – but only with a Standard view. With visionOS 2.2 and macOS Sequoia 15.2 (available as a free software update), Apple Vision Pro users can now enjoy a brand-new version of Mac Virtual Display.

New Wide & Ultrawide Display Size
Previously, Mac Virtual Display was only available in a Standard view – but with this update, you will be able to view your workspace in three different aspect ratios – Standard, Wide, and Ultrawide.
I have been using Mac Virtual Display on the Vision Pro for work almost every night, with multiple windows open – and the Wide and Ultrawide options are going to be a definite gamechanger.
Updated Standard Display Size
With the addition of new Wide and Ultrawide aspect ratios, the Standard 16:9 viewing mode on your display takes things a step further with a stunning 5K resolution. Plus, its gentle curve ensures that everything – from apps to content – is effortlessly visible at a glance, while delivering incredible sharpness and detail that will leave you amazed.
Move Audio from Mac to Apple Vision Pro
Now, with Mac Virtual Display, you can easily route the audio from your Mac directly to the Apple Vision Pro’s audio pods, giving you a more immersive experience without relying on your Mac’s speakers. It’s a seamless way to enjoy crystal-clear sound while using your Vision Pro. This is a feature I have been looking forward to!
Mac Virtual Display really shows how effortlessly Apple products work together, blending hardware and software to create a truly seamless experience. With visionOS 2, there are even more features designed to elevate your productivity, like the ability to use a Bluetooth mouse, see your Magic Keyboard while immersed in an Environment, and make the most of your Vision Pro on the go with Travel Mode—whether you’re on a plane or train. It’s all about making your experience smoother and more efficient, wherever you are.
