Apple launches new resources for educators

Apple has always been supportive of different communities and industries, and its efforts in the educational sector has always been larger than life. Yesterday, Apple launched a full suite of free classroom resources to enhance the way creativity is harnessed through technology.

New Tools for Educators

Everyone Can Create resources helps educators unlock student creativity and bring active learning to any classroom on the iPad. Through Creative Activities, educators can leverage on fun and interactive lesson ideas to make learning interesting. Creative Activities are designed to help educators engage students without increasing their workload, and each activity aims to enhance essential skills.

New Creative Activities include:

  • Drawing: Reveal a Constellation
  • Photo: Create a Sticker Collage
  • Videos: See More in Slo-Mo
  • Music: Lay Down a Beat

These Creative Activities are available in the Apple Education Community, where educators can draw inspiration, share resources, and connect with peers easily. Forum collaboration features are currently not available in Singapore.

Apple has also continuously expand Apple Learning Coach, a free professional learning program that helps educators coach other educators on how to extrapolate the best out of Apple products in classrooms. Apple Learning Coach is available in 8 languages across 15 countries and regions, including Singapore.

Grant Programs for Students and Educators

Apple has always been working with schools and nonprofit organizations globally to provide grants and other programs to increase access to technology, and boost educational and workforce opportunities. In 2023, Apple has expanded its support to nearly 40 new education partners across Canada, Mexico, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

This is in tandem with Apple’s Community Education Initiative, which creates provisions of hardware, scholarships, financial support, educator resources, and access to Apple experts to schools and organizations in under-resourced communities.

New Partnerships

In Germany, one of Apple’s newer partners, CodeDoor, provides coding and workforce readiness training for migrants. Apple provides support to the organization’s Creators program, where participants can leverage on Everyone Can Code resources and Swift Playgrounds.

In the App Store, the Great Tools for Teachers Collection spotlights classroom essentials that educators can leverage on to support their planning and lesson execution.

On Apple Music, educators and even parents can explore a collection of learning-based playlists and albums. On Apple Books, readers can access a suite of nonfiction and kids’ books about inspiring educators. In Podcasts, listeners can find featured shows with conversations by and for educators. The Apple TV app features a collection of shows that showcases the importance of teachers.

Educators can also use Group Reservations to book a Today at Apple session for their students at their nearest Apple Store. There are more than 20 topics for educators and their students to learn how to get the most out of Apple products.
