iPhone 16 & 16 Plus

Overall Look & Feel

Before we dive into the exciting new features of the iPhone 16 lineup, let’s take a look at the aesthetics. The vibrant colors are embedded directly into the durable back glass, and the latest Ceramic Shield is tougher than any smartphone glass out there. The iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus feels comfortable to the touch, and there is an air of premium feel to them.

Display

The iPhone 16 comes in 6.1″, and the iPhone 16 Plus comes in 6.7″.

Performance

The A18 chip is the first chip that Apple custom designed for a non-Pro iPhone model. Jumping two generations from A16 Bionic in iPhone 15, the A18 chip was designed to specifically enable capabilities like Apple Intelligence. The 6-core CPU makes the iPhone 16 lineup faster, and even more power efficient. Just to describe how much improvement is coming to the iPhone 16 – it is up to 30% faster than the CPU in iPhone 16, and up to 60% faster than the one in iPhone 12.

The 5-core GPU underscores everything from Apple Intelligence, to camera features, to games with demanding graphics. It is up to 40% faster than the GPU in iPhone 15, and up to twice as fast, as the one in iPhone 12. Now, that’s super fast.

iPhone 16 Camera Control

Camera Control

The Camera Control gives you the ability to access your Camera app with a single click. A single click opens up the Camera app by default, and the smooth sapphire crystal texture makes it easy to access the Camera Control simply by touch. Another click will snap a photo, and a click and hold records a video up to 4K 60fps in Dolby Vision. Access all the camera functions you know and love by lightly pressing the Camera Control twice, and slide the tip of your finger on the Camera Control to navigate controls such as zoom.

Action Button

If you’re looking to switch up from iPhone 15 Pro or iPhone 15 Pro Max, you’d be familiar with the Action Button. The same button everyone knows and loves (finally) comes to the iPhone 16 lineup, granting you the power of customization through different functions such as Silent/Ring modes, Focus modes, Shortcut, Accessibility, Translate, Voice Memo, and more.

48MP Camera

Both models come with a 48MP Fusion camera that enables a 24MP default resolution to deliver incredible detail and stunning low-light performance. Tapping on the middle 12MP of the quad-pixel sensor, 2x Telephoto lens offers photos and videos at a 52mm focal length. The Ultra Wide camera now features a faster aperture and bigger pixels, and autofocus allows macro photography to capture fine details in any kind of subject photography.

Battery Life

As compared to iPhone 15, the iPhone 16 can now give you two more hours of video playback – a testament to the A18 chip’s energy efficiency. The iPhone 16 Plus can give you up to one more hour of video playback. The larger battery in iPhone 16 works hand in hand with A18 and the advanced power management of iOS 18 to achieve better overall energy efficiency.
